Fall Golf Vacation

Now is the ideal time to plan your fall golf vacation. The milder weather means the sugary white sands will be less crowded and the courses will be free for you to enjoy a leisurely day of golf.
Gulf Coast golf is ideal during the fall season. The weather is cooler, which means you’ll be more comfortable out on the course. When you take away the scorching hot temperatures of the summer, it is possible for you to concentrate on your game, not on how hot you are out there!

The fall is also terrific because peak tourist season has ended, which means you won’t be under any pressure to let others play through when you want to take your time on the course. Other perks include not having to wait for a table at your favorite seafood restaurant and having your pick of places on the sand to set up your beach chair.

Planning your trip has never been easier. You can go to the Gulf Shores Golf Association website to get a customized quote on your golf excursion, including tee times and lodging.

Sink and Swim Golf Vacation

Have you booked your summer golf trip to the Alabama Gulf Coast? It’s the perfect time of year for a sink and swim vacation. After you go out on the course and sink the putt, you can go for a swim in the pool or the Gulf.

While it doesn’t seem to be a problem for golf enthusiasts, the sweltering heat can sometimes get pretty grueling when you play golf in the summer. Being able to jump into a nice refreshing pool of water is just the thing you’ll need to cool off after a day on the golf course. There is a vast selection of Gulf front condos and hotels, some even having the bonus of a lazy river.

Another way to cool off is to enjoy a nice swim in the Gulf of Mexico. That’s a big reason that Gulf Shores Orange Beach is an ideal location for a golf vacation in the summer. The other reason is seven signature golf courses, all of which are top rated.

You can check out some sample rates here to decide which accommodations will best suit your needs--and what pools you will get to enjoy.

Staying Cool on the Course This Summer

The sweltering heat during the warmer months can sometimes make you want to throw in the golf towel. Here are a few tips that will keep you cool while your golf game is on fire.

Don’t wait until you are thirsty or dehydrated to drink water. You should drink a bottle of cold water before you even get to the course. Having cold water in your system will keep your body cooler as you begin to play. A good idea would be to freeze a bottle of water the night before your round and grab it on your way out. Then you can store it in your golf bag and have ice cold water at your fingertips. Be sure to continue to drink water throughout the round.

Although you may like that black polo shirt in your closet, don’t wear it out on the course during the summer. The color will attract the sun which will cause you to get overheated quickly. Wear light colored clothing instead.

Although this won’t help with the heat, the sun is brutal and your skin can take a beating being exposed for hours on end. Purchase an oil free sunscreen so that your hands aren’t greasy and use a high SPF to ensure it is keeping you protected.
